Instead of just watching the characters grow, you have to be actively involved in the scene and actually experience it. My biggest problem with the movie is that Papa Berkman doesn't reveal any appealing characteristics. Throughout the entire film he remains an insecure, asshole poser, whose only potentially endearing trait is his insecurity, which is ruined due to his pretentious, asshole response to it. Other than that, great movie. Hilarious and hopeful, I would recommend it for anyone who wants to laugh at and embrace their inner philistine.
